We came together as a family, along with neighbors and 20some of Brody’s dearest friends, to award the very first Brody Reynolds Balcony Person Scholarship at the 2026 Senior Awards Night! 

This scholarship concept was born days after Brody’s fatal collision. I told his friends about being a Balcony Person in this world and that if they wanted to honor their friend then to spend their lives as connectors of others, being beside people where they are, to bring joy/smiles/love and light to spaces without judgement but with empathy…. And a scholarship idea came from this. I said that Brody’s greatest gifts were his innate social and emotional abilities to “intuitively feel and know” others hearts around him and his also innate ability to bring joy and light, hilarity, deep listening, the ability to hold space for others, his overwhelming ability to love fresh each day without judgment and to approach life with arms wide open for others. Brody seemed to be born with extra buckets of love, life and light and he just passed it out to others daily- folks who maybe needed a little extra that day!  . 

The scholarship is not based on grades, nor activity and volunteer work, clubs, sports etc… we have many scholarships already in existence for these things. Brody’s scholarship is based completely on someone’s emotional and social intelligence level and their character. 

Brody’s friends, who are all Balcony People, have not only held up our family but they have served in so many ways with the foundation. Many served on the Scholarship Committee for the Brody Reynolds Balcony Foundation and together we examined applicants, held Zoom meetings, and also held interviews…. Which is where we came to know the most amazing young man who embodies all of the attributes of a Balcony Person !!! PRESLEY ROBINSON

At the awards night I shared that a Balcony Person doesn’t set out to go find a “good” to do in the world or a charity to work for and help their community and to build their resume. Although there is nothing wrong with that- a Balcony Person is just living their life and meets and lifts up people right where they are in their day- helping and lifting up someone is as woven into the day of a Balcony Person as much as having lunch. 

Presley Robinson is all of these things and we are so blessed to know him, recognize and reward him, and now partner with him as he is an ambassador for the The Brody Reynolds Balcony Foundation as he steps out into his future . His parents and family are just incredible people and they have raised an outstanding young man! We are so proud of everyone involved!! 

(Now these same friends of Brody’s and Presley (who is part of the family now:) will come together this week to make over 600 gift bags for the 2026 graduates with a message on how to make every day count by lifting up others and being a balcony person.)
